What is Power Cycle?

Power Cycle means that you turn your set top box off and back on. The preferred method of power cycling your set top box is to unplug your STB from the wall outlet and then plug it back in.

What should I do if my TV is not working or changing channels?

You will need to power cycle the STB and wait 10 seconds.

What could the problem be if I am only getting two or three channels?

You may be on FAVORITES. Toggle Guide Button until you get to Subscribed or ALL.

Why can I see a picture, but cannot hear any sound?

First, make sure the MUTE button hasn’t been pressed. To turn the MUTE feature off, press the MUTE button on that particular component again. Also try turning the volume up. Finally, verify that the cables attached to the AUDIO INPUT JACKS on the back of your set top box and your TV or home theater system have been properly attached and are tight.

Why doesn’t the remote control work?

Make sure that the remote control is in CABLE mode by pushing the CBL button. Remove any obstructions between the remote control and the set-top box. Check the batteries in the remote control and install new batteries if necessary. For more detailed instructions, click on your remote in the graphic above.

What is the problem if I have a picture but no info bar?

Most likely your television is on analog. Verify that your set top box is on. Find the input button on your remote and scroll through the input channels until you see a picture.

I see snow on my TV and no picture. What happened?

It is very common as you learn to use your new STB to mistakenly turn the TV channel on the tuner in the TV itself. In other words, if your installer tells you to be on Channel 3 of the TV to watch RTC TV, and by mistake you have changed the TV to channel 13, this would cause the snow because RTC TV is on channel 3. THE STB handles all channel changing so the TV will never change its channel. To correct it, hit the TV button on your remote and then 3 for channel 3. Then hit your STB button, and you are ready to go again.

How do I get the Closed Captioning Feature turned off?

Click on the picture of your specific remote control in the graphic above. Locate the CC button within the picture and hit the corresponding button on your remote.

Why am I getting bad reception or unable to access my digital music channels?

Make certain that the set top box is connected directly to the cable outlet and that you are not using a splitter. If you are still experiencing problems, check the rest of your cable connections.
