When RTC began offering telephone service to Rochester customers in 1896, human flight had not been achieved, the Model T was still decades away, and electricity was still just getting started.
120 Years later, RTC manages complex fiber optic networks streaming millions on byte of data, voice and video to meet the demands of tomorrow's consumer. Although it might not seem like it, the landline has evolved. RTC now offers VoIP services to Residential customers. Contact us today to get the best local service and support available.

What is VoIP?
VoIP is an acronym for Voice Over Internet Protocol, or in more common terms phone service over the Internet. If you have a good internet connection you can have VoIP!
Can I keep my phone number?
If you are currently an RTC customer you can keep your number! If you're coming from another provider we will need to take a closer look.
Do I need a new phone?
Nope! You can use the phone you currently have.
Additional equipment needed?
You will also need to have wireless internet inside your home. Some customers may need a small device called an ATA.
VoIP is a non-regulated service which means we can offer it to you for less than a traditional phone service!
